Antioxidant-rich and immune-boosting chaga mushroom bliss balls take ordinary snacking to a new level!

What is Chaga Mushroom?

Chaga mushroom is a type of fungus that grows on the bark of birch trees in cold climates. In its’ raw form, chaga has a dark, wooded exterior, resembling burnt charcoal, and a soft, orange interior.

Chaga mushroom has been used medicinally for centuries in countries like Northern Europe, Russia, and Siberia to treat a range of ailments and diseases. The Khanty people, an indigenous tribe from Siberia, are among the first group of people to use chaga mushroom.

Nowadays, chaga mushroom is more readily available, coming in the forms of powder, extracts, gummies, and tinctures. Chaga is most prominently known for its’ immune support, anti-oxidative properties, and ability to lower blood sugar levels.

How To Make Chaga Bliss Balls

Chaga Mushroom Powder: we use Anima Mundi Body Guard - Organic Chaga Mushroom Powder. Make sure that you do some research to find the best mushroom powder for you. And as always, before trying any potent adaptogens like chaga, consult with your doctor to make sure it fits into your regime.

Almond Flour: almond flour creates the perfect, no-bake consistency for these bliss balls. We use Bob’s Red Mill Super Fine Almond Flour. Alternatively, substitute with oat flour.

Peanut Butter: any peanut butter, nut butter, or sunflower butter will work in this recipe.

Maple Syrup: natural, unrefined sweetener that adds sweetness and depth of flavor. Substitute any other liquid sweetener, like agave.

Dark Chocolate Chips: our go-to brand for our dessert recipes is Enjoy Life. In this recipe, we use their Rice Milk Morsels.

Hemp & Flax Seeds: for added health benefits and extra protein, these super food seeds make these snack balls satiating and well-balanced.
