Tips for a Plant Based Holiday
and plant-based recipes to share with friends & family this holiday season
Depending on your situation, maintaining a plant-based meal plan during the holidays can be challenging.
As we've experienced in our journeys, eating plant-based is much easier to do when the people around you eat similar foods. We've both been to a potluck or get-together where almost everything has animal products or gluten (in Nicole's case).
If you find yourself in this situation, know you are not alone.
Our tips for encouraging others to try your plant-based food this holiday season:
If you're planning on a Tofurkey, keep in mind people tend to go with what they know. It is much easier to share your brussel sprouts, potatoes, and yams than it is to share imitation meat. Do your best to find a personal-sized Tofurkey if you'll be the only one eating it this holiday.
Try your best to meet people halfway. Your strictly meat and potatoes uncle may never go fully vegan, but he might try one of your plant-based treats if you welcome him with an open mind and heart.
Experiment with new recipes and make something you will love! For many of us, we spend the holiday season thinking of what we can do for others. Remember to save some grace for yourself and treat yourself to a plant-based favorite.
