Healthier, Tastier “Snickers”

We all get a sweet tooth from time to time. For me, it’s everyday! I love satisfying my sweet, chocolatey cravings with these delectable “Snickers” stuffed dates.

Who needs a candy bar when these exist?! They’re sweeter, richer, and deeper in flavor than an actual Snickers bar, and they’ll leave you feeling much more satisfied, without any of the processed sugars and additives.

4 Simple Ingredients

These dates have just four main ingredients: medjool dates, dark chocolate, peanut butter, and peanuts. Not only are they packed with flavor, but they contain so many great nutrients, plus fiber and protein, to keep your cravings at bay. For this reason, they make a fantastic breakfast option as well. These stuffed dates are the perfect treat for your indulgence!

Delectable and indulgent snack or breakfast option to satisfy your sweet tooth! These stuffed dates are the perfect mixture of sweet, salty, crunchy and caramel-y.

Ingredients

  • 12 medjool dates pitted

  • 1/3 c peanut butter

  • 1 c dark chocolate chunks

  • 1 tbsp coconut oil

  • 1/4 c peanuts

  • sea salt

Instructions

  1. Pit your medjool dates by slicing them down the middle (length-wise) and removing the seed. Place dates on parchment paper, silicone mat, or in a glass dish.

  2. Stuff dates with peanut butter and top with peanuts.

  3. Melt dark chocolate and coconut oil in the microwave or on the stovetop.

  4. Using a fork or skewers, dip each date into the chocolate. Place back onto your dish.

  5. Drizzle the remaining chocolate over the top of the dates, then sprinkle with sea salt.

  6. Put dates in freezer for at least 20 minutes until chocolate has hardened.

  7. Store in the freezer or refrigerator until ready to enjoy!

Notes

If you are using peanut butter that isn’t already sweetened, I recommend adding a little bit of maple syrup or sweetener of choice to this recipe.
